Coach Matt Johnson

Background
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Matt grew up mostly overseas and played soccer ever since he was 4 years old. Due to an knee injury that ended his soccer career, he found that volleyball was a sport that he could still play. He has been playing volleyball semi-competitively for 6 years and coaching for the last 3 years at Lake Norman Volleyball Club.

Philosophy
Matt's experience working with other coaches and athlete's directly
impacts his coaching. He believes that the best offense is a good
defense. He teaches hard work and tries to teach good work ethic on
and off the court. He, also, believes that the fundamentals are a
vital part of the game and a skill set that an athlete should be
taught. If you know fundamentals, all you need is a genuine love for
the game.

Coach Matt is beginning his 4th year with LNVB. He has coached the

07-08 - LNVB 17 - Nightmare (assistant)
08-09 - LNVB 16 Red (Head)
09-10 - LNVB 16 Black (Head)
